Understanding how credits work and choosing the right plan
How Credits Work
AskUsers uses a credit-based system for AI customer analysis. Each credit allows you to analyze one customer, generating their AI persona and personalized email.

1 Credit = 1 Customer Analysis (AI persona + personalized email generation)
What Uses Credits

How Credit Consumption Works
When you analyze a customer, the system follows this flow:
Credit Check
Before analysis begins, the system verifies you have at least 1 credit available. If not, you'll see an "Insufficient credits" message.
AI Analysis
The system performs AI-powered analysis:
- Extracts company domain from customer email
- Researches the company via web sources
- Generates a business persona with confidence score
- Creates a personalized email draft
Credit Deduction
Only after successful analysis, 1 credit is deducted from your balance. Failed analyses don't consume credits.
Results Saved
The analysis is saved to your account for future reference. You can view it anytime without using additional credits.
Credits are consumed atomically with concurrent-safe operations. If you run batch analysis, each customer consumes 1 credit independently.
Credit Expiration
All credits expire 30 days after being granted or purchased. Use them or lose them!
Credits are consumed using FIFO (First In, First Out) - oldest credits are used first to maximize value before expiration.

Viewing Your Balance
Check your credit balance:
- Click your profile icon in the top right
- Your current balance is shown below your name
- Or go to Settings → Credits for detailed history
The credit balance updates in real-time after each analysis.
Credit History
View your credit transactions in Settings → Credits → Credit History:

Understanding Usage Records
Each usage record shows:
- Customer analyzed - Email or name of the customer
- Timestamp - When the analysis was performed
- Credits used - Always 1 per analysis
Insufficient Credits
When you run out of credits:
- Existing data remains accessible - View all previous analyses and conversations
- Email sending continues - Send emails to already-analyzed customers
- New analyses blocked - Cannot analyze new customers until you have credits
To get more credits:
- Wait for monthly refresh (subscription plans)
- Purchase a credit package
- Upgrade your plan for more monthly credits
Subscription Management
Upgrade Plan
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click Upgrade Plan or visit Pricing
- Select your desired plan
- Complete checkout via Stripe
Manage Subscription
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click Manage Subscription
- Opens Stripe Customer Portal where you can:
- Update payment method
- Change plan (upgrade/downgrade)
- Cancel subscription
- View invoices
Cancel Subscription
- Open Stripe Customer Portal
- Click Cancel Plan
- Your access continues until period end
- Credits are not refunded
